Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center is proud to offer exceptional medical residency programs and continuing education for healthcare providers in our region. Based in Wilmington, NC, each of our residency programs offers a unique experience with smaller class sizes to allow for more individual support, access to procedures, and guidance through your journey as a resident to support overall well-being.

Commitment to Strong Partnerships
At Novant Health, we have a strong commitment from our partners through our affiliation with the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Medicine, and South East Area Health Education Center (SEAHEC). These partnerships allow us to advance medical education through interdepartmental collaboration with UNC Academy of Educators, provide research resources, and support continuing professional development, as well as reciprocal rotations. In addition, Wilmington is a well-established branch campus for the UNC school of Medicine 3rd and 4th year medical students.
Novant Health Simulation Lab
Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center offers a dedicated simulation lab, allowing healthcare providers to replicate a number of real-life scenarios – from an outpatient clinical setting to an operating room suite – to gain hands on experience in responding to a range of medical conditions and emergencies. Our lab offers an immersive learning experience with advanced recording and playback capabilities to practice clinical and diagnostic skills while gaining real-time feedback.
