THOMASVILLE, N.C. – Dr. Scott McGinley, an orthopedic surgeon with more than 30 years of experience, recently joined Novant Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, where he is seeing patients in Lexington and Thomasville.
“My kids call me ‘Mr. 911’ because I spent many years working as an orthopedic surgeon in a busy trauma center,” said McGinley. “I am passionate about doing everything from routine joint replacements to treating acute injuries.”
McGinley’s interest in medicine began when he was just 4 years old, observing his father, an emergency room physician in New Jersey. He earned his medical degree and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He then completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Florida, where he served as a team physician for the Florida Gators football team.
“I was drawn to Davidson County because I have a big heart for community medicine,” said McGinley. “I used to go on house calls with my dad to visit patients in the more rural areas of our community. I want patients to know that I’m not just here to serve them as an orthopedic surgeon, but as someone who genuinely cares about helping them reach their well-being goals.”
