HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Novant Health Hilton Head Medical Center recently recognized its first Guardian Angel award recipient, honoring KeiKei Manker for her exceptional compassion and dedication to patient care. KeiKei is a certified nursing assistant (CNA) on the progressive care unit in the hospital.
An initiative of Novant Health Foundation, the
Guardian Angel program allows grateful patients, families and colleagues to recognize team members who make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Manker was nominated for the award in recognition of the kindness, attentiveness and comfort she provides to patients each day.
The inaugural recognition was made possible through a special gift from South Carolina Novant Health Foundation Chief Philanthropy Officer Nancy McInroy. McInroy made the contribution in memory of her friend and neighbor who received care at Novant Health Hilton Head Medical Center and formed a special bond with Manker.
"My friend was so pleased with her experience at Hilton Head Medical Center and was especially grateful for the sweet care and attention that KeiKei provided after her procedure. She raved about KeiKei and her fabulous eyelashes!" Sadly, McInroy’s friend later passed away.
Through this heartfelt gift, the Guardian Angel program will continue to celebrate caregivers like Manker who embody the compassion, service and remarkable care at the heart of Novant Health’s mission.
