WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Forsyth Tech and Novant Health have announced a new partnership to bring a dedicated health clinic to the college’s Main Campus, with services set to begin in fall 2026. The clinic will provide no-cost on-site care for students, helping address a growing need for accessible healthcare.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility was held on May 12, marking an important step in expanding student support services at Forsyth Tech.
The clinic will be funded through student fees and designed to remove common barriers to care, including cost and transportation. By offering services directly on campus, Forsyth Tech aims to support student success by helping students stay healthy and focused on their academic goals.
“Access to healthcare should never be a barrier to a student’s success. This clinic brings care directly to our campus, removes cost as a concern, and gives our students one more reason to stay focused on their goals and their future.” said Dr. Janet Spriggs, president of Forsyth Tech.
“We know college students lead busy lives, so we’re committed to making high-quality care more convenient for them,” said Alisha Hutchens, president of Novant Health’s acute care facilities in the Triad Region, and president of Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center and Novant Health Medical Park Hospital. “This clinic is part of our long-term strategy to close care gaps, engage with patients earlier, and bring care closer to home in our community.”
The clinic will provide a range of healthcare services tailored to student needs. The goal is to ensure that every student has access to care when they need it, without added financial stress.
College leaders say the addition of an on-campus clinic reflects a broader commitment to supporting the whole student. Access to healthcare is often a key factor in whether students can stay enrolled and complete their programs, and this new resource is expected to play a strong role in improving student outcomes.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together campus leadership, healthcare partners, and community members to celebrate the start of construction.
More details about clinic services and hours will be shared as the opening approaches.
