WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Four Novant Health nurses have been named to the prestigious Great 100 list for their excellence in nursing. These nurses were nominated by their peers on the basis of their outstanding professionalism, their demonstration of excellence and their commitment to making a difference in their communities through nursing.
The following honorees exemplify Novant Health values of teamwork, diversity, compassion, courage and personal excellence.
Named to the list were:
- Robin Atkinson, BSN, RN, OCN, clinical services navigator, Novant Health Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center, Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center
- Julie Barfield, MSN, RNC-MNN, clinical education, Novant Health greater Charlotte market
- Marquita Tabron Green, MSN, RN, CCRN, intensive care unit, Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center
- Dana Whitaker, BSN, RN, CNRN, central staffing and scheduling office, Novant Health greater Winston-Salem market
The Great 100 Inc., founded in 1988 and based in Greensboro, North Carolina, is a grassroots peer recognition organization that seeks to honor the nursing profession. Every year, the program honors 100 registered nurses across North Carolina who demonstrate excellence and promote a positive image of the nursing profession. Great 100 also raises funds to provide scholarships for individuals who want to pursue nursing as a career.
These nurses will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 5, during the 2019 Great 100 Gala at the Concord Convention Center at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Concord Golf Resort & Spa in Concord, North Carolina.
