WILMINGTON, N.C. – New Hanover Health Advantage, sponsored by Novant Health, is pleased to again offer three comprehensive medical health insurance plan options in 2024 for residents of New Hanover, Pender and Brunswick counties. The plan options include two Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug plans, as well as a Medicare Advantage-only plan.
“It’s critical that all patients, especially our senior patients, have access to insurance plans that allow for continuity with established care teams,” said Robert Hardyman, executive director, Novant Health New Hanover Health Advantage. “These Medicare Advantage plans are built around an open access network designed with flexibility in mind. Patients can see any provider who accepts Medicare and will have customizable options and extra benefits with the local clinicians they know and trust. We look forward to continuing to serve our communities through these coverage options.”
The annual enrollment period starts Oct. 15, 2023 and ends on Dec. 7, 2023. New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender County residents are eligible to join these plans with coverage starting Jan. 1, 2024.
Medicare beneficiaries can choose between the New Hanover Health Advantage Platinum Plan, Select Plan and a Freedom Plan specifically designed for veterans, retired state employees and those who do not participate with Medicare Part D.
Several extra benefits in the 2024 New Hanover Health Advantage plans include:
- Zero-dollar premium option.
- Zero-dollar primary care office copay. Members can see any provider accepting Medicare patients.
- Zero-dollar visits to in-network specialists. This is a Platinum Plan benefit.
- $900 annual Part-B premium buy down. This is a Freedom Plan benefit.
- $3,000 annual dental benefits.
- Zero-dollar copay for in-network preventive dental care and eye exams.
- Up to $480 annual prepaid card for over-the-counter medications at major retailers.
- Up to $300 annual fitness allowance.
