Wilmington, N.C. – Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center has been recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals for 2026.
This distinction highlights 460 hospitals nationwide that stand out for “strong clinical outcomes, supportive patient experiences and innovative approaches to advancing maternal and newborn health” in the communities they serve.

Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center is committed to delivering high-quality maternity care close to home. Each patient receives individualized, compassionate care designed to support their unique needs. Families have access to nine delivery rooms equipped to support a range of birth experiences, including amenities such as a birthing tub and wireless fetal monitoring to promote comfort and mobility. The medical center also offers in-person prenatal tours to help expectant mothers and families understand what to expect, with tour schedules available through Maternity Events at Novant Health. The hospital welcomes doulas as part of the care team, reinforcing its commitment to a supportive and patient-centered environment.
Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center also provides comprehensive breastfeeding support, including both inpatient and outpatient lactation services led by certified lactation consultants. These services, combined with the expertise of care teams and strong community connections, reflect a continued commitment to supporting mothers and babies across Brunswick County—from the first prenatal visit through delivery and beyond. In addition, the medical center hosts Baby Café every Tuesday at 11 a.m., a free drop-in support group and an annual Community Baby Shower that connects families with guidance, encouragement and community.
