CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Novant Health has expanded access to highly specialized surgical care with the launch of the Novant Health Abdominal Wall Reconstruction & Hernia Center. The new surgical program provides comprehensive treatment for patients with complex hernias and abdominal wall conditions.
The program is led by Dr. Vedra Augenstein and Dr. Jana Sacco, nationally recognized experts in abdominal wall reconstruction and complex hernia repair. Novant Health Abdominal Wall Reconstruction & Hernia Center has clinic locations in both Salisbury and Charlotte.
The new clinics strengthen Novant Health’s ability to care for patients with some of the most challenging abdominal wall and hernia conditions, offering advanced surgical expertise, multidisciplinary care and individualized treatment plans.

Abdominal wall reconstruction and complex hernia repair often require highly specialized evaluation and treatment, particularly for patients who have experienced recurrent hernias, prior surgical complications or other complex medical conditions. The new center will provide comprehensive care ranging from consultation and surgical planning to advanced reconstruction procedures and long-term follow-up.
"Patients with complex hernias often face significant physical limitations and may have been told their condition is too complicated to repair," said Fuller. "Our goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized care that restores function, improves quality of life and gives patients access to the latest surgical techniques and treatment options."
