HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – Novant Health is continuing to grow its presence in South Carolina with the addition of Novant Health Gastroenterology - Coastal Carolina. Dr. Madeline Russell and Mandy de Bruin, nurse practitioner, are now part of Novant Health and began seeing patients on June 8.
They continue to provide leading-edge gastroenterological care in Hardeeville and the surrounding communities, now supported by the Novant Health network and the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies. The clinic specialists manage and treat abdominal pain, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, ulcers, gallbladder concerns, liver concerns and more.

Dr. Russell is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine and has been caring for patients for more than 14 years. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Carson Newman University and medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center/Mercer School of Medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at Atrium Health Carolina Medical Center.
Mandy de Bruin is a certified adult and gerontological acute care nurse practitioner with more than a decade of experience in treating patients for various gastroenterological conditions. She is an active member of the American Nurses Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Indiana University and Purdue University and a master’s degree in nursing from Walden University.
