WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., – Following weeks of high demand for testing amid the Omicron surge, Novant Health is partnering with Ottendorf Laboratories, an independent lab provider, to increase access to COVID-19 testing at its primary testing sites in Charlotte and Winston-Salem. With this partnership, staffing will transition from Novant Health to Ottendorf Laboratories, which will also conduct the tests of samples. Ottendorf Laboratories’ support of Novant Health’s testing operations is made possible by funding from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
“Our team members who staff these testing sites are either taking this role on in addition to their primary role or have been temporarily redeployed. So even as demand starts to decrease, this partnership will bring needed relief to our teams who can transition back to their regular work streams. We also hope that expanded hours give our communities more options, bringing relief to our emergency departments and clinics,” said Marty Lambeth, vice president of Novant Health Physician Network Services “We’re extremely proud of, and thankful for, all of our team members who have been working around the clock to ensure we can meet community demand for testing while also maintaining our vaccination sites and delivering care for anyone who needs it. This work takes a village and we appreciate the state’s assistance in supporting this partnership.”

The testing sites are open to all, and do not require a photo ID or health insurance. Those who get tested will need to complete paperwork on-site. Rapid tests are not available at the sites.

- Beginning Feb. 7, 2022, this site will be open daily, Monday thru Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

- Beginning Feb. 13, 2022, this site will also be open on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
