HIGH POINT, NC – 2025 - Novant Health and the YMCA of High Point are proud to announce a new joint initiative focused on expanding community wellness programs and supporting youth sports and development throughout the greater High Point area.
This “team up” will officially launch with Novant Health’s support of the YMCA of High Point’s Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 26. Learn more about how you can take part in Healthy Kids Day here.
This collaboration marks a shared commitment to enhancing the overall health and well-being of individuals and families across the region. The organizations will work together to introduce new wellness programming, expand access to fitness and health education resources, and strengthen support for youth sports as a pathway to lifelong healthy habits.
“Many people in our community would be surprised to learn that approximately 80% of chronic diseases can be prevented with health education and lifestyle changes,” said Nicole Brenner, president and chief operating officer of Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center. “We’re delighted to link arms with the Y to lead more prevention and wellness-focused initiatives across the region we serve. Ultimately, our goal is to engage with people sooner in their health journey, and to detect and address any health condition – such as diabetes or high blood pressure – before it has a chance to turn into something more serious.”
This community-centered affiliation is informed by local Community Health Needs Assessments, ensuring that the services and programs developed will directly address the region’s most pressing health priorities. In addition to program support, this initiative partnership will explore opportunities for on-site health education and wellness screenings at YMCA locations. “Novant Health’s support helps us expand the reach and impact of our programs,” says Lynn Lomax, President & CEO at the YMCA of High Point. “Together, we’re empowering youth, strengthening families and building a stronger, healthier community.”
