Night of Beauty to education, pampering for women diagnosed with cancer
Novant Health Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center is partnering with Modern Salon & Spa to host Night of Beauty, an evening designed to provide education and inspiration to women undergoing treatment for cancer. The free event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center, 242 Colonial Ave., Charlotte, N.C. 28207.
Many women opt out of wearing a wig because it doesn't fit right, doesn't look like them, or they don't know how to maintain it. Night of Beauty will improve the self-image of women during their cancer treatment by offering wig consultation/ styling and makeup tips. Participants will also be pampered with hand massages, swag bags and light refreshments.Recognizing a need for wig services in the community, stylists at Modern Salon recently completed a training to learn how to size, style, and maintain wigs. “These women are all-around beautiful and we want to make them feel like themselves again,” said Nikki Lowery, stylist manager and director of education, Modern Salon & Spa. “Through Night of Beauty, we hope to show women that it’s possible to have a good hair day – even when you have cancer.”
