WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Becker's Hospital Review recently released its 2016 list of top 100 Hospitals and Health Systems With Great Oncology Programs, featuring the nation’s leading cancer care facilities. Novant Health Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center was included on the list.
All hospitals on this list offer patients comprehensive cancer care involving teams of specialists, participation in clinical trials and personalized treatment programs. Many of these organizations are driving forces in the fight to end cancer.
“It is quite an honor to be included on Becker’s Top 100 list,” said Jette Drummond, vice president of oncology at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. “It is a reflection of our high level commitment to provide remarkable care to the patients of the Derrick Davis Cancer Center.”
The Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center is one of the largest cancer treatment facilities in the southern United States, treating more than 3,000 new patients each year in addition to its ongoing patient base. This makes them one of the leading cancer facilities in North Carolina.
The Becker's Hospital Review selected the top 100 hospitals based on recognitions received and accreditations earned. To compile the list, Becker’s examined U.S. News & World Report cancer care rankings, CareChex cancer care rankings, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Blue Distinction Center designation and National Cancer Institute designations.
“We are humbled to be included among the nation’s best cancer centers, a reflection of the hard work and dedication of everyone on our team,” said Betsy Johnson, director of outpatient oncology for the cancer center. “We realize maintaining that level of care and growing beyond our patient’s expectations are something we strive to do every day.”
Becker's Hospital Review has published a version of this list since 2012. The full list features individual profiles of all hospitals selected and can be read here.
