WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., Sept. 27, 2023 – Novant Health has named Dr. Chan Badger as senior physician executive of Novant Health Employer Solutions, which builds partnerships with employers across the state of North Carolina to promote employee health, wellness and retention. Badger will continue his role as lead clinician of Novant Health Northern Family Medicine in Greensboro, North Carolina, which he founded in 2010.
In his expanded role, Badger will co-lead Novant Health’s direct-to-employer strategy with Marissa Michaels, vice president of Novant Health Employer Solutions. Badger will oversee all clinical services provided by Novant Health Employer Solutions and partner with local businesses to improve their employees’ health and well-being. He will also work closely with Novant Health’s employee occupational health and occupational medicine teams.

Badger has held many clinical leadership roles during his 13-year tenure with Novant Health, including as medical director for Novant Health shared services (now AXIA Physician Solutions) and medical director for Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center. Badger is a board-certified family medicine physician and has cared for patients for 25 years. He received his medical degree from East Carolina University and completed his family medicine internship and fellowship at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
