WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health Enterprises has launched MedVenta Health Solutions (“MedVenta”), a transformative, provider-led pharmacy solutions company that will partner with patients and providers to better meet their health care needs and advance value-based care. Novant Health Enterprises is a division of Novant Health which launched in 2022 to accelerate clinical, operational and technological advances for the health care industry.
MedVenta’s aim is to increase access to affordable medications and improve patient outcomes through expanded retail and specialty pharmacy services, enhanced pharmacy clinical delivery models, new access points for infusion services, and better coordination of care across the continuum. MedVenta is led by experts from Novant Health’s infusion, specialty and retail pharmacy services and will develop partnerships with pharmacy solutions companies that are also focused on transforming pharmacy access for consumers.

Included in MedVenta is Mediful, Novant Health’s virtual medication management service. Health care providers caring for patients with chronic conditions often face three challenges: medication cost, patient adherence and the administrative burden of medication management. Through this service, Mediful clinical pharmacist practitioners collaborate with the patient’s care team to ensure that medications are individually assessed to maximize safety, affordability and effectiveness for chronic diseases. Mediful also provides home delivery of prescriptions.
Joe Maki, PharmD, has been named president of MedVenta Health Solutions and senior vice president of Novant Health. Maki is a leading pharmacy expert and has been with Novant Health for more than seven years. Since joining Novant Health, Maki has focused on partnering with providers and consumers to offer the best pharmacy solutions through his leadership of specialty and outpatient pharmacy business operations and strategy, with past responsibilities including procurement operations, pharmacy business, contracting and the 340B drug pricing program.
