WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – In a move that will strengthen Novant Health’s position in a rapidly evolving health care landscape, Novant Health has announced expanded roles for two of its executive team members, Dean Swindle and Sanjay Gupta.
Swindle is now chief strategy officer in addition to executive vice president of Novant Health and president of Novant Health Enterprises. In this new capacity, he leads strategic growth initiatives, including partnerships and investments, as well as the Novant Health South Carolina region and Novant Health Institutes. Novant Health Enterprises is an independent business division focused on partnerships and investments that drive diversified revenue streams and transformational capabilities for the health system. Most recently, Swindle spearheaded the launch of a new initiative to bring together Novant Health’s specialty and retail pharmacy, infusion and virtual medication management services to develop new pharmacy solutions to support healthcare providers, increase access and improve patient outcomes.
Gupta, executive vice president and chief transformation officer, will now oversee artificial intelligence (AI) and organizational innovation, which are key strategic enablers essential to the health system’s transformation journey. Gupta will lead Novant Health’s adoption of new technologies, including AI technologies that enhance the patient experience and improve operational efficiency. He will continue to lead marketing, communications, internal consulting and integration efforts for newly acquired entities.
