Bolivia, N.C., Aug 15, 2016 – On Friday, Sept. 9, the Novant Health Foundation Brunswick Medical Center will host its fifth annual golf tournament at Carolina National Golf Course at Winding River. The year’s tournament will again be hosted by the volunteers at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, and the co-chairmen are Bob Curts and John LeFebvre.
The 18-hole golf classic will begin with registration and breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Following breakfast, a 9 a.m. shotgun start is planned for the captain’s choice tournament. The event will include men’s and women’s categories for hole-in-one, closest to the pin, closest to the center line and a putting competition. Registration for an individual player is $85 and $340 for teams of four. Mulligans will be available to golfers.
“We will have a fun, relaxed day of golf – all for a great cause,” Curts said. “We are encouraging individual golfers to register to play as well. It’s a great way to network and meet other local community members.”
A lunch reception will follow the tournament and will include prizes for first-, second- and third-place teams. Raffle tickets will also be available for a Williamsburg, Virginia, golf vacation, which includes three days of golf and two nights for four people. The package features a two-night stay at Historic Powhatan Resort, as well as rounds of golf at Royal New Kent, Stonehouse and Brickshire golf clubs. Tickets are $5 each or three for $10. Sponsorships for the golf tournament are available.
Through the thoughtful gifts of grateful patients, corporate donors, grant-making institutions and local supporters, the Novant Health Foundation Brunswick Medical Center is making a profound impact on health in our community. This year the tournament’s funds will benefit the women’s and children’s outreach initiative program, which focuses on increasing breastfeeding for new moms, decreasing smoking in pregnant women and diminishing childhood obesity in Brunswick County.
