WILMINGTON, N.C. — Novant Health is seeking submissions from regional artists to contribute to the healing environments of its Coastal Region facilities. This initiative aims to integrate local artistry into healthcare settings, enhancing the patient and team member experience through visual art.
In preparation for the future Novant Health Scotts Hill Medical Center, set to open in 2026, and to refresh the existing Coastal Region Art Catalog utilized across more than 30 facilities, Novant Health invites artists to submit original, uplifting artwork that reflects the region's culture and landscapes.
Submission details:
- Submission period: July 1 – Aug. 15, 2025
- Eligibility: Artists aged 18 and older; preference given to residents of New Hanover, Pender, Brunswick, Columbus, Onslow, Duplin, and Bladen counties
- Mediums: All 2D-readable formats; artwork must be digitized by the artist
- Compensation: $50 per single-use license, per selected piece
- Maximum entries: Up to 40 pieces per artist
- Submission process: Email properly formatted digital files (under 10” in either direction at 72 DPI) along with a completed application to nhcalltoarts@gmail.com
Selected artists will be notified by Aug. 31, 2025, and will be required to provide high-resolution files (30" on the longest side at 300 DPI) within two weeks of selection. Printing, framing, and installation will be managed by Commercial Framing.
Artwork guidelines:
Submissions must be original works created within the past eight years. Preferred themes include abstract designs, transitional landscapes, native botanicals, and regional scenes that evoke a sense of calm and connection to the Southeastern coastal environment. Artwork should not depict recognizable individuals, religious or political themes, nudity, pet portraits or weapon imagery.
