WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health has been named one of America’s Best Employers for Healthcare Professionals 2025, a new ranking published by Forbes and the market research firm Statista. Novant Health is one of only five organizations based in North Carolina to be included on the list.
The recognition highlights Novant Health’s ongoing work to enhance team member experiences, from increasing compensation, benefits and educational opportunities, to investing in new technology that empower team members to provide remarkable patient experiences.

New and ongoing efforts to support team members include:
- Market-verified compensation and benefits packages that include an investment of $300 million this year in team member pay increases and bonuses.
- Leading the charge to reduce burnout and administrative burden through innovation and advocacy, such as the use of AI tools, and research and policy recommendations from the Novant Health Center for Public Policy Solutions designed to support care teams and improve healthcare costs and patient care.
- Side-by-side mentorship and support for nurses that keep Novant Health’s retention rates above the national average, including a nationally noted 12-month residency program that has launched 5,300 nursing careers. With nearly 70 clinical nurse educators, the Novant Health Center for Professional Practice and Development offers a larger faculty than many schools of nursing. Novant Health also offers the Upward Mobility RN Educational Assistance Fund, which has covered tuition and fees for more than 170 team members to earn their RN licensure with flexible hours, paid study time, mentors and career coaches to ensure their success.
- Education and career-development opportunities, including Novant Health Future Forward, a debt-free education program for new and existing clinical team members to earn professional certifications, and undergraduate or graduate degrees, prepaid by Novant Health.
- Well-being resources including health programs, spiritual care, financial counseling, access to mental health support including an Employee Assistance Program and NeuroFlow, which offers Novant Health team members a free and confidential mobile health app for managing stress.

According to Forbes, the rankings are based on an independent survey of more than 17,000 employees who work for healthcare and social welfare providers with at least 1,000 employees in the U.S. The survey was conducted periodically over the past three years, with more than 300,000 total evaluations of healthcare employers that factored into the rankings.
