WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health has launched NovaCatalyst, a new venture designed to expand proven pharmacy and imaging solutions nationwide to improve access, affordability and outcomes for patients. NovaCatalyst will bring these capabilities, along with future diversified services, to healthcare organizations across the country, extending Novant Health’s impact beyond its traditional footprint.
The venture is designed to support distinct but complementary growth paths for MedVenta and MedQuest Imaging, allowing each organization to build on its strengths while continuing to serve patients and partners with focus and consistency. This new structure enables faster growth and broader reach in high-demand areas like pharmacy and imaging, while keeping clinical care delivery within Novant Health’s core operations.
“The future of healthcare requires thoughtful and differentiated approaches to expand access beyond traditional boundaries,” said Carl S. Armato, president and CEO, Novant Health. “NovaCatalyst gives us an opportunity to bring these proven solutions to more communities, allowing Novant Health to continue supporting innovation while staying focused on our core capabilities: providing remarkable care for our patients and strengthening the communities we serve.”
Since its launch nearly two years ago, MedVenta, a provider-led pharmacy solutions company, has delivered measurable impact for patients and care teams. One example is Mediful, its virtual medication management solution offered to physician clinics that helps improve affordability, adherence and outcomes for people managing chronic conditions. Results to date include:
- Lower out‑of‑pocket costs for 80% of more than 15,000 patients
- An average A1c reduction of 2.1 points
- Reductions in 30‑day readmissions and emergency department return visits
- A 93% patient recommendation rate
As NovaCatalyst accelerates MedVenta’s growth, these proven models will expand to support more healthcare organizations, helping more patients access the medications they need and stay on track with their care.
“We’ve built MedVenta around real-world experience and a deep understanding of what providers and health systems need,” said Joe Maki, PharmD, president, MedVenta. “NovaCatalyst gives MedVenta the ability to bring our services to more healthcare companies across the country, collaborating on customized solutions and redefining innovation in retail, specialty and infusion pharmacy. Ultimately, we’ll be able to support better outcomes for the patients they serve.”
MedQuest Imaging, one of the leading outpatient imaging providers in the United States, will continue operating as it does today, expanding its reach while maintaining its focus on delivering high-quality outpatient imaging services. Its network includes more than 50 independent, hospital-affiliated and mobile imaging centers serving patients across the country. MedQuest continues to leverage advanced imaging technologies to drive high efficiency, support earlier detection and more precise diagnoses and deliver high patient satisfaction while providing an increasingly digital patient experience.
“Novant Health’s continued support confirms the success and stability of MedQuest and that we are a strong, agile company capable of scaling to meet patients’ needs,” said Bruce Elder, chief executive officer, MedQuest Imaging. “We look forward to delivering the same, trusted imaging services that help patients receive fast, accurate diagnoses and treatments they need to advance their health.”
