Novant Health nationally recognized with Diversity Impact Awards for 5th consecutive year

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., Oct. 17, 2023 – For the fifth consecutive year, Novant Health was named a 2023 recipient of Diversity Impact Awards by Talent Dimensions and the Global ERG Network. The Diversity Impact Awards are national, annual awards that recognize, honor and celebrate the outstanding contributions of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Business Resource Groups (BRGs) and diversity councils. Two of Novant Health’s BRGs were recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington D.C. on Oct. 13.

“Our business resource groups play an integral role in building an inclusive culture at Novant Health,” said Kalin Griffin Bostwick, vice president of inclusion and pipeline programs, Novant Health. “These groups help us better understand our team members as individuals and the communities they represent, which allows us to bring more personalized and remarkable experiences to life. We are honored that their efforts have been nationally recognized for the fifth consecutive year.”

Novant Health has 14 BRGs, which are voluntary groups of team members organized around an aspect of common identity such as religion, gender, veteran status, race, disabilities and more. Membership is open to all team members, regardless of whether they self-identify around the common identity. BRG members help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where team members work, belong, receive and provide care.

The Novant Health Generation to Generation BRG was honored with a Top 25 ERG Award. Among many other successful initiatives, the BRG partnered with the office of patient experience on a senior care journey mapping project that focused on how to offer more personalized care, information and services for patients between the ages of 65 and 74.

Novant Health’s Native American BRG was honored with a Diversity Spotlight Impact Award for its National Native American Heritage Month programming. The BRG invited dancers, drummers and a storyteller to perform at two Novant Health facilities.
