WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ― Novant Health today announced it is opening additional COVID-19 screening centers across its footprint. The screening centers will operate 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. All Novant Health-GoHealth Urgent Care centers are also screening.
As a reminder, people who have no symptoms will not be tested. They should not visit a screening center as they do not meet the criteria for screening or testing. Visiting a screening center unnecessarily will only further one’s risk of exposure and put a strain on resources for those who need it most.
Screening center opening Monday, March 23:
- Novant Health Screening Center – Thomasville, 903 Randolph St., Thomasville, NC 27360
Screening centers opening Tuesday, March 24:
- Novant Health Screening Center – Salisbury, 315 Mocksville Ave., Salisbury, NC 28144
- Novant Health Screening Center – Brunswick, 13 Medical Campus Drive, Supply, NC 28462
The Brunswick screening center will open Tuesday, March 24, at 1 p.m. and will then operate 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Those with questions about whether or not to seek care should utilize Novant Health’s online self-guided assessment tool at NovantHealth.org/coronavirus. The self-guided assessment uses CDC protocols and asks a series of screening questions to determine if a patient should seek care for COVID-19. This assessment is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment and should not be used if patients are experiencing a life threatening emergency.
Novant Health has also established a 24/7 coronavirus helpline (1-877-9Novant), which is designed for patients without a primary care physician who are experiencing symptoms and have questions about how best to seek care. Patients with a primary care provider are encouraged to call their provider first, before driving to clinics or screening centers in order to help curb the spread of possible infection.
