WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Today, Novant Health improved access to care for patients in Summerfield by opening a new family medicine clinic and a pediatric clinic in northwest Greensboro. The clinics, Novant Health Northern Family Medicine - Summerfield and Novant Health Forsyth Pediatrics - Summerfield, are conveniently located in the same building at 4901 Auburn Road in Summerfield. Each care location will see patients Monday through Friday and provide same-day visits for sick patients.
“Expanding access to care for patients in and around Summerfield is exciting for us and the community,” said Dr. Chan Badger, lead physician at Novant Health Northern Family Medicine - Summerfield, and senior physician executive of Novant Health Employer Solutions. “I’ve practiced in Guilford County for most of my career and I’m proud of the approach we’ve taken to establish trust with our patients while also focusing on preventive, whole-person care. Our goal with this new two-in-one clinic location is to not only make care more accessible in the region, but to also improve the overall health of the families that call this area home.”
“It’s an honor to serve the youngest patients in our community,” said Dr. Kirk Walker, founding and lead clinician at Novant Health Forsyth Pediatrics in Kernersville, Summerfield, Walkertown, Union Cross and Oak Ridge. While Walker only sees patients at the Kernersville location these days, he has played an instrumental role in the establishment of each satellite clinic location over the years.
“This marks a significant milestone in our journey from a one-provider practice 35 years ago on West Mountain Street,” Walker said. “Our expansion reflects not only our commitment to delivering high-quality pediatric care but also our deep connection to the growing community. As the community has flourished, so has our practice, and we are excited to extend our unwavering commitment to excellence to the families of Summerfield and its surrounding areas.”
