Novant Health opens outpatient infusion clinic in Shallotte to expand access to care

SHALLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health has opened a new infusion center in Shallotte to increase access to care closer to home for residents of Brunswick County and Columbus County.

Patients can benefit from outpatient IV medication infusion for a number of conditions, including anemia, asthma, heart failure, inflammatory bowel disease, migraine, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis. The center will also offer chemotherapy infusions.

"We continue to invest in the facilities and services needed to support robust care throughout our growing community," said Kevin Briggs, president of Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center. "We look forward to welcoming patients at our new location that is conveniently accessed from U.S. 17."

Novant Health Infusion Shallotte opened July 21 and will operate from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to start. The clinic is located at 512 Village Road, Suite 206, Shallotte.

Elsewhere in Brunswick County, Novant Health is planning additional projects to grow access to care, including:

  • A new ambulatory surgery center opening this summer in the Leland area. The center will offer outpatient affordable surgical care.
  • Expanded services at Brunswick Medical Center in Bolivia, including an expanded MRI space and a cardiac catheterization lab. The lab will allow patients to receive interventional cardiology procedures, such as stent placements, without having to travel outside the county.
  • The future 20-bed Novant Health Leland Medical Center to provide hospital care to growing northern Brunswick County.
  • A future free-standing emergency department in Carolina Shores.
