The Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness is a Senior Services initiative that has strategically brought more than 20 local nonprofit organizations under one roof to offer health care services, fellowship opportunities and arts-based activities for people of all ages in Forsyth County. “We applaud Senior Services for their forward-thinking approach to build a healthier and more engaged community,” said Joyce Mounce, Novant Health senior director of community medicine in the greater Winston-Salem market. “Our goal for this new clinic is to not only make care more accessible in this area of town, but to also allow our team and patients to work more collaboratively with our community partners. For example, we know that a new diabetes diagnosis can be challenging, but it can hit even harder for patients with limited resources. Being able to work with on-site partners, like Second Harvest Food Bank, will now make it easier for patients to access the resources they need all in one location. To be successful, we understand that it takes all of us, collectively working together, to provide truly whole-person care.”

Four new clinics, one convenient location

This new multispecialty clinic will offer patients convenient neighborhood access to care regardless of their ability to pay. While all insurance types are accepted, financial navigators are available to help address any barriers to care. The goal: Provide timely, preventive and specialty care services for all patients in the community.

Same-day care

"We know how awful it can feel to have a sick child at home, or to have to call out of work due to an unexpected illness,” said Mounce. “Our goal at this new family medicine clinic and across all our primary care sites in and around Winston-Salem, is to provide same-day access to care when our patients need us the most. That means that even if a patient’s regular clinician isn’t available that day, we will work with the patient to offer convenient and alternative appointment options at nearby Novant Health care locations. This ‘neighborhood’ approach to care is designed to not only empower our patients by making care more accessible, but to also create a healthier future that’s focused on closing health equity gaps and helping our patients and fellow community partners thrive together.”

Same-day sick care virtual appointments are also available in the new multispecialty clinic Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Patients can also schedule a virtual care appointment anytime by visiting NovantHealth.org/VirtualCare.
