Novant Health promotes Kim Henderson, expands responsibilities to include its foundations

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health has announced Kim Henderson has been promoted to executive vice president. Previously senior vice president, Henderson will continue to serve as chief of staff for the Novant Health system. In this role, Henderson will maintain leadership of departments and initiatives related to patient experience and services, employer solutions, community engagement and sports partnerships. She will also assume additional responsibilities, including oversight of Novant Health’s foundations.

Henderson began her career in Novant Health’s marketing and communications department and has held a series of increasingly senior positions across various departments, including patient relations, guest services and volunteer services. Most recently in 2022, Kim was named senior vice president of patient experience to enhance the overall experience of patients and families throughout the Novant Health system. In 2021 she assumed leadership of employer solutions, where she leads Novant Health’s strategic partnerships with businesses to bring innovative and customized health care and wellness initiatives directly to their employees, including behavioral health, occupational and executive health programs, as well as building comprehensive telemedicine services and on-site wellness centers.

ATHENA International awarded Henderson with the 2021 ATHENA Service Leadership Award for her work to improve the quality of life for others in the Charlotte community. It is one of the numerous awards she has received throughout her career. The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) also honored Henderson at its 2021 Maya Angelou Women Who Lead Luncheon. Active in the community. Henderson is executive in residence at The McColl of Business at Queens University of Charlotte. She earned an MBA from Queens University of Charlotte and a Bachelor of Science in public relations from Western Michigan University.
