Charlotte, N.C., April 8, 2016 – Are you upgrading your iPad this year? If so, why not donate your old model to help someone in need?
Novant Health Foundation Presbyterian Medical Center is seeking new and gently used iPads to help support educational programs for heart failure patients. The iPads will be used in hospitals and outpatient clinics to show patients 3D images of the heart and educational videos, making it easier for them to understand their disease and reinforcing the lifestyle changes needed to manage it.
“Heart failure patients are at high risk for readmission to the hospital, but many of these readmissions can be prevented with proper medication management, diet modifications and exercise,” said Arthur Gallagher, vice president of Novant Health Foundation and Community Engagement. “We believe that a strong, easy-to-understand educational platform – delivered via iPads – will empower patients to be healthier and reduce readmission rates.”
To ensure compatibility with the 3D software, the following models are being accepted: iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air, iPad Air 2 and iPad Pro.
