Winston-Salem, N.C. – As part of its partnership with Davidson County Schools, Novant Health physicians will offer free sports physicals this month for Davidson County high school student-athletes.
All school physical events for Davidson County Schools this year will begin at 5 p.m. Upcoming dates and locations for Davidson County students are as follows:

May 21 – South Davidson High School

May 22 – West Davidson High School

May 23 – East Davidson High School

May 24 – Central Davidson High School

May 29 – Oak Grove High School

May 30 – North Davidson High School

May 31 – Ledford High School
Students should bring their North Carolina High School Athletic Association required medical forms. Each of the physical events in Davidson County is expected to end around 7:30 p.m.
“We’re excited to offer sports physicals to Davidson County students this month as part of our ongoing partnership with the local school system,” said Bob Casmus, a certified athletic trainer and supervisor of Novant Health’s athletic trainers for the Greater Winston-Salem market. “Along with checking blood pressure, a musculoskeletal screening and a physical exam with a physician, we are going to offer in our history portion some additional cardiac questions to ensure optimal cardiovascular health. Sports physicals are a key component of Novant Health’s sports medicine partnership with Davidson County Schools.”
Novant Health partnered with Davidson County Schools to provide advanced sports medicine care to student-athletes at the school system’s high schools with a two-year contract that began with the start of the 2017-2018 academic year. The partnership puts athletic trainers at each of the seven high schools and offers various treatments on-site for all sports programs.
Outside of Davidson County, Novant Health will also offer sports physicals this month at other Triad high schools, including Davie County High School (May 9) and Bishop McGuinness High School (May 14).
