WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health is expanding access to advanced foot and ankle care across the Triad with the addition of Dr. Christina Long, a board-certified podiatrist with 15 years of experience. Long recently joined Novant Health Mothershed Foot & Ankle and will care for patients in Clemmons, Kernersville and Winston-Salem.
Long specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including but not limited to arthritis, bunions, deformities, fractures, nerve problems and sprains.
“I became a podiatrist to help patients keep moving and return to the activities they most enjoy,” said Long. “My goal with each patient is to develop a personalized treatment plan that may include nonoperative solutions such as changes in footwear, orthotics, physical therapy or, when appropriate, surgery.”
Long earned her medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago before completing a residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Prior to joining Novant Health, Long worked at a private practice in Maine and served as an instructor of orthopedic surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
At Novant Health Mothershed Foot & Ankle, patients have access to expert care for adult and pediatric foot and ankle conditions, including diabetic foot concerns, arthritis, deformities, skin conditions, gout, hammertoe, plantar fasciitis, sprains and fractures.
