Novant Health has expanded its pediatric specialty care offerings in southeastern North Carolina to include access points in Jacksonville and Brunswick County.
While many regional pediatric specialty services are concentrated in Wilmington, Novant Health, in partnership with UNC Health, is now offering expanded appointments in Jacksonville and Supply to help support convenient access to care for children and families.
"Bringing your child to a specialty pediatric appointment already requires a time commitment for the family," said Dr. Michael Jaskolka, clinical physician executive for the Novant Health Women’s & Children’s Institute within the Coastal region. “We're very pleased to offer expanded appointment times closer to home to support the many children and families we serve who live further away from our Wilmington locations."
Pediatric appointments are now offered three to four days a week at Novant Health Jacksonville Medical Plaza, and additional appointment slots are planned to accommodate future growth. Specialty services now include pediatric neurology, endocrinology, surgery/urology and hematology, in addition to our existing pediatric gastroenterology and cardiology services.
When appointments expanded to Jacksonville in 2022, specialists were seeing about 12 patients a month. Today, Novant Health is seeing an average of 125 pediatric patients monthly in Jacksonville. A family living in Jacksonville saves nearly 100 miles round trip by accessing care locally.
In Brunswick County, gastroenterology and cardiology appointments are now available monthly at Novant Health Pediatrics in Supply.
Novant Health has partnered with UNC Health to expand access to pediatric specialty care across southeastern North Carolina. The initial phases of growth have included adding new services so families can seek care locally and expanding existing services to shorten wait times.
Novant Health UNC Children's clinicians care for neonatal and pediatric patients hospitalized at the Novant Health Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital and provide a range of outpatient specialty care locally.

"We are excited about our future efforts to continue to grow Novant Health UNC Children's care options."
