“Experiencing a heart attack is a life-changing event, which is why we are deeply committed to delivering the highest-quality care grounded in the latest scientific advancements,” said Howard L. Haronian, MD, FACC, physician in chief of the Novant Health Heart & Vascular Institute. “It’s an honor to be recognized by the American College of Cardiology, and we are grateful for the trust our patients and their families place in us during such a pivotal time in their lives.”
To receive the Chest Pain MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award, hospitals must consistently meet rigorous standards of care for heart patients set by the ACC and American Heart Association for two consecutive years, including using a data-driven quality-improvement program to ensure all care for heart attack patients adheres to guidelines. A hospital’s performance is measured through the ACC’s National Cardiovascular Data Registry, the largest, most comprehensive data collection in the U.S. for tracking cardiovascular care outcomes. The Chest Pain – MI Registry focuses specifically on understanding and improving care for heart attacks. Learn more.
