TowneBank invests in workforce development and upward mobility at Novant Health Ballantyne Medical Center with $500,000 gift

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Nov. 1, 2023) – On Friday, Oct. 27, TowneBank committed $500,000 to Novant Health’s Upward Mobility RN Educational Assistance Program, which supports internal advancement and improves the financial well-being of team members, particularly those living in underserved areas. The $500,000 gift was made to the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation, which supports the greater Charlotte area, and will specifically go to team members at Novant Health Ballantyne Medical Center who are working toward licensure as a registered nurse.

“Novant Health's Upward Mobility RN Educational Assistance Program is not just an investment in our team members' futures, but in the future of healthcare. By providing opportunities for our team members through Novant Health Foundations to advance their education and careers, we are building a stronger, more skilled workforce that is better equipped to provide exceptional care to our patients and communities,” said Ann Caulkins, senior vice president, Novant Health, and president, Novant Health Foundation.

“At a time of ever-increasing nursing shortages, TowneBank's generosity allows us to invest in our most important asset….our people. So many individuals with a desire to continue their education and improve their financial health simply do not have the resources to do so. We thank TowneBank for being our partner in allowing these goals to become a reality,” said Ben Brodersen, president & chief operating officer, Novant Health Ballantyne Medical Center.
