Surgical treatments for vascular disease

Endovascular Procedures

During an endovascular procedure a surgeon inserts a flexible tube (catheter) into a blood vessel through small incisions in your groin or chest. He then uses special imaging equipment to guide the catheter to the area that needs to be treated.

Because it results in less blood loss and has lower risk of infections or other complications, these catheter-based procedures usually do not require general anesthesia are usually performed on an outpatient basis. This means you can get back to your favorite activities more quickly with less scarring.
