One of the questions Novant Health leaders hear most often is, “Is Novant Health going to build a hospital in Western North Carolina?”
We are excited to confirm our plans to apply to build a new community hospital in Buncombe County. Our proposed medical center will offer better access to care, higher-quality health services and more choices to Buncombe County. With a proven track record of building and growing community hospitals, we hope to bring compassionate care and lifesaving innovation close to home for residents of Western North Carolina.
Plans for Novant Health Asheville Medical Center include acute care beds, an emergency room, and imaging and pharmacy services.
Novant Health Asheville Medical Center will be built on a 24-acre site near the Biltmore Park Town Square shopping mall off Interstate 26. The address is 455 Long Shoals Road in Asheville.
How can you help?
We are asking for your support in this process. But more importantly, we want you to understand why your support is important.
There are many reasons why letters of support from community members play a critical role in North Carolina’s Certificate of Need process. Your voice can make a difference, and we’d appreciate you sharing your perspective on why Western North Carolina needs another choice for healthcare. Your personal experiences and examples are often more powerful than statistics and graphs because they humanize the need in your community.
If you would like to support our application, visit NovantHealth.org/WesternNC. From there, you can quickly send an email to support this effort.
Thank you for your questions, your interest in having more healthcare in your community and for staying engaged. It means a lot as we work to bring this new hospital to life.
