We are seeing more and more violent acts on a larger scale. To help communities better cope with this grim reality, Novant Health trauma team members are volunteering their time and expertise to teach first aid basics to groups throughout their footprint. The program called “Stop the Bleed” is funded by a grant from the American Trauma Society. Recently, the volunteers taught the bleeding control course to court and sheriff’s office personnel at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse.
