
Born and raised in Charlotte, Fraser received his undergraduate degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and his MD-MPH dual degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona, and the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, and a fellowship specializing in total joint replacements at the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Fraser has many academic interests within orthopedics. He has published or presented more than 40 peer reviewed studies, book chapters, posters and podium presentations at national and international meetings. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
His special interests include healthcare delivery, reform and novel payment strategies such as bundled payments. He also has an advanced knowledge of and research interest in total joint registries and systematic collection of patient-reported outcomes. He has lived in both French- and Spanish-speaking countries and is proficient in both languages.
In addition to providing remarkable care, Fraser enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He is an avid sports fan, world traveler and fly fisherman.
