Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center partners with DaVita for inpatient dialysis

BOLIVIA, N.C. – Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center has contracted with DaVita, a leading provider of dialysis services in the United States, to provide dialysis treatments to hospitalized patients. Southeastern Nephrology providers and DaVita nurses will administer the dialysis treatments.

The contract accommodates a growing need throughout the Brunswick community as many patients are forced to go outside of the county for treatment. By bringing the state-of-the-art equipment to Brunswick Medical Center, Novant Health and DaVita now offer a more convenient option for hospitalized patients requiring dialysis for issues like Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.

“Inpatient dialysis is something that many patients and providers have been asking for in the Brunswick community,” said Jill Ward, chief nursing officer of Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center. “We are excited to enter into a relationship with DaVita and Southeastern Nephrology to meet the growing needs of those requiring routine dialysis.”

DaVita delivers dialysis services to patients with chronic kidney failure and end-stage renal disease. The organization offers many options for kidney disease management, including kidney transplant, in-center hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home hemodialysis and in-center nocturnal dialysis.

“DaVita is excited to provide our services and expertise in kidney care to patients at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center,” said Angela Darling, DaVita regional operations director. “By bringing dialysis services to the Brunswick community, we continue our mission to enhance the experience of care for all patients.”
