GREENVILLE, S.C. — Novant Health has named Robert Brown, MD, as physician executive for the Greenville area. In this key leadership role, Brown will partner with Ryan Lee, Novant Health president of the Greenville area, to expand access to high-quality care in the Upstate, delivering on Novant Health’s commitment to improve health outcomes in the Carolinas.
A nationally respected facial, head and neck surgeon, Brown brings more than two decades of clinical expertise and extensive leadership experience to his new role. Brown helped expand specialty services throughout the Upstate and led quality initiatives that enhanced patient care in the community. He held leadership positions with premier health systems and served nationally with the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Otolaryngology. Brown also serves as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Brown will be clinically active starting in fall 2025 and will lead physician recruitment efforts to build a remarkable team of primary and specialty care physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and therapists. Together with his dyad partner Lee, Brown is committed to advancing Novant Health’s vision for Greenville, giving patients more options and expanded access to care while ensuring the highest safety, quality, transparency and value.
