Novant Health opens first express care in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C., Sept. 18, 2105 – Novant Health has opened its first express care office in Greensboro at 4012 Battleground Avenue. Express care clinics offer convenient walk-in care, with extended weekday and weekend hours, and treat common illnesses and minor injuries.

The new facility will provide Novant Health nurse practitioners or physician assistants to diagnose and treat medical conditions, prescribe needed medications, conduct sports physicals and administer flu shots and tetanus vaccinations. Novant Health physicians provide medical supervision of all care offered at the clinic. The clinics can perform tests such as cholesterol screening, rapid strep tests or blood glucose screenings.

"We are pleased to open this new medical service to the Greensboro community," said Todd Perry, MD, Novant Health express care lead clinician. "We realize there are many patients who may be from out of town, or perhaps don't have a primary care physician, or possibly need quick, convenient medical care. Express care is a great alternative to a high-cost emergency room visit or to patients delaying treatment because they have to wait for an appointment with their regular provider."

The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sundays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You do not have to be a patient of a Novant Health physician to be seen in the office. Most insurances and Medicare and Medicaid are accepted.
