Novant Health opens new urgent care locations in Charlotte

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 27, 2016 – Novant Health Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine recently opened two new locations in the Charlotte area. Located at 11840 Southmore Dr., Suite 100 in the Waverly development, and at 445 S. Kings Dr. across from Metropolitan at Midtown, the two facilities offer a wide-range of urgent care, employer health and basic wellness services on a convenient walk-in basis.

Novant Health Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine clinics are designed to treat individuals of all ages, providing expert care for non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses, or when the need for care is urgent. The facilities offer extended day and weekend hours, making it easy to receive quality health care outside of normal business hours.

“We continue to create a coordinated health system to help ensure patients get the right care, in the right setting, at the right time, and at the right costs,” said Andy Muller, SVP of Novant Health’s Charlotte market. “Having access to an urgent care facility allows patients to be treated for non-life threatening medical issues when a primary care provider is not available as an alternative to a more costly emergency department visit.”

The urgent care facilities offer a variety of services for medical issues and illnesses and injuries including treatment of flu, sprains, fractures, minor cuts, and ear, eye, sinus and urinary tract infections. They also offer immunizations, sports physicals, on-site x-ray and laboratory services for fast and accurate diagnosis. Additionally, complete services for employers including employment physicals as well as lab screening for the workplace are available.

The new Novant Health Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine locations are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Most major insurances are accepted. For more information on these clinics, please visit NovantHealth.org/urgentcare.
