Marshall, VA, May 13, 2016 – Novant Health UVA Health System has opened an express care office in Marshall, Virginia, at the Marshall Shopping Center. Express care locations offer convenient walk-in care, with extended weekday and weekend hours, and treat common illnesses and minor injuries. Novant Health UVA Health System has had a growing presence in Northern Virginia, and this is its second express care location in Virginia.
The new facility will provide Novant Health UVA Health System nurse practitioners or physician assistants to diagnose and treat medical conditions, prescribe needed medications, conduct sports physicals, and administer flu shots and tetanus vaccinations. Novant Health UVA Health System physicians provide medical supervision of all care offered at the office. Tests such as cholesterol screenings, rapid strep tests or blood glucose screenings are also available.
"We are pleased to open this new medical service to the Marshall community," said Heather Aram, vice president of physician and ambulatory services for Novant Health UVA Health System. "We realize there are many patients who may be from out of town, or perhaps don't have a primary care physician, or possibly need quick, convenient medical care. Express care is a great alternative to a high-cost emergency room visit or to patients delaying treatment because they have to wait for an appointment with their regular provider."

Walk-in appointments are available Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. You do not have to be a patient of a Novant Health UVA Health System provider to be seen in the office.
