Drs. Tesfa Michael, Bhalaghuru Chokkalingam Mani and Kaustubh Dabhadkar join Novant Health Heart and Vascular Institute

Renowned trio specializes in cardiovascular health; bringing cardiac care to patients in Matthews

MATTHEWS, N.C.– Novant Health Heart and Vascular Institute is pleased to welcome three new cardiologists to their Matthews office: Drs. Bhalaghuru Chokkalingam Mani, Kaustubh Dabhadkar, and Tesfa Michael. 

Mani received his medical degree from The Tamil Nadu M.G.R. Medical University in Chennai, India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He joins us now after completing fellowships in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and advanced vascular and endovascular training at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. 

Dabhadkar also comes to Novant Health from Providence, Rhode Island, where he most recently completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at Brown University. Dabhadkar received his medical degree from Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India, and completed his residency in internal medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He also holds a master’s degree in public health from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Michael comes to Novant Health from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, where he completed training in advanced cardiac imaging (echocardiography, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI). He received his medical degree from Gondar College of Medical Sciences in Gondar, Ethiopia. Michael completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and went on to complete a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Oregon Health & Science University hospital in Portland, Oregon. He also holds a master’s degree in public health from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

 

 

As non-invasive cardiologists, Dabhadkar and Michael focus on the detection and treatment of heart disease, using external tests to evaluate and diagnose cardiac disorders. Patients with a history of heart disease, suspected valve disease or chest pain may be referred by their physician for a non-invasive evaluation.
