Kybele Signs Collaboration Agreement with Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center

Winston-Salem, November 24, 2014 - Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center is pleased to announce that it has entered into a collaborative agreement with Kybele, Inc. and the Novant Health Maya Angelou Women’s Health & Wellness Center.

The agreement was signed by Kybele President Dr. Medge Owen and Forsyth Medical Center President Denise Mihal on September 1, 2014. This agreement will formalize program collaboration and outreach opportunities for Forsyth Medical Center staff.

This collaboration enables increased cooperation and communication to reach beyond the boundaries of the United States and identify host country collaborations with the goal of improving healthcare and disease prevention for women. This resource will enable host country collaborations requesting clinical care and prevention programs; work with government agencies, non-government agencies, corporations and individuals in host countries to identify gender healthcare discrepancies and reduce the discrepancy gap. The goals are to address aspects of women's health that are important to each global collaborator, assess current outcomes, determine availability / access to healthcare, prevention and education and to focus on programs to reduce mortality and morbidity in women and newborns.

In addition, Dr. Owen, the President of Kybele, Inc., has been named Medical Director of Global Health. She will develop global health programs of joint interest such as enhancing and advancing current global women's health work and supervising structured and meaningful global health field experiences for Forsyth Medical Center’s faculty and staff.
