CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health recently opened the Novant Health Pelvic Health and Surgery in the South Park area. The clinic is located at 6324 Fairview Road, Suite 390, and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The new clinic features two physicians, Dr. Joseph Malek and Dr. Patricia Mattingly. Malek earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed his residency and fellowship training at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, in Birmingham, Alabama, along with a three-year fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. His fellowship combined the elements of gynecology, urology and pelvic reconstructive surgery and allows Malek to provide comprehensive treatment options, including surgery when necessary.
Mattingly attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia, and completed her fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Mattingly has expertise in advanced gynecologic surgery and the treatment of uterine fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain and other gynecologic conditions, along with advanced training in laparoscopy, robotics, hysteroscopy, and vaginal and complex open surgical techniques.
