Thomasville, N.C. – Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation has received a $25,000 donation from Thomasville & Archdale-Trinity Pediatrics that includes donor recognition for the Baby Café at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center.
This donation comes as the foundation continues fundraising efforts for a new center for health and wellness to serve Davidson County and surrounding communities.
Thomasville & Archdale-Trinity Pediatrics’ gift is among the first major contributions toward the hospital foundation’s capital campaign for the new center. The center, to be located on the campus of Thomasville Medical Center, will include programming to help meet community health needs, including behavioral health, chronic disease management with focus on adult and adolescent obesity, diabetes education including a teaching kitchen, outpatient physical rehabilitation, ConnectionLink to engage senior citizens and the Baby Café.
“We are impressed with the innovation that lactation consultant Lisa Miller has brought to nursing mothers at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center and Baby Café. We are grateful to be able to show support to the Baby Café and the hospital in these efforts.” said Dr. Rob Williams, a pediatrician at Thomasville & Archdale-Trinity Pediatrics.
“We are very thankful for the support from Thomasville & Archdale-Trinity Pediatrics as we continue to raise funds for this center that will play a major role in our community,” said Rick Parker, the executive director of Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation. “This donation gives us momentum as we work toward making the new center a reality. Once opened, the center will be a major asset to Thomasville and Davidson County and will serve to improve the health of families in our surrounding communities as well.”
The Baby Café at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center, now called Thomasville & Archdale-Trinity Pediatrics Baby Café, is part of the international Baby Café program, aimed at helping women reach their breastfeeding goals. Also available are free weekly weight checks for infants. Mothers will have access to a lactation consultant, education, tips and tricks, and community engagement. Baby Café offers support on all aspects of breastfeeding and its impact on daily life.
