WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation is pleased to announce officers and the addition of new board members to provide stewardship and oversight of its operations and activities.
“We’re very excited to welcome such an accomplished, engaged and diverse group of leaders to the Novant Health Foundation,” said Heather Egan, chief philanthropy officer, Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation and Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation. “As an organization, our goal is to create a healthier future and bring remarkable experiences to life. Outside of the expertise of our medical team, instrumental support is also provided by the generosity of our donors, the guidance from our leadership team and the shared commitment that we have developed with our community partners.”

John Card, MD, chair
Dr. John Card began his medical career with Novant Health 27 years ago. Card graduated from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and underwent training at Loyola University Medical Center. Today, Card serves as the Novant Health physician liaison for the greater Winston-Salem region, office of health equity and community health. He also specializes in internal medicine at Novant Health Adult Primary Care Harper Hill in Winston-Salem.
Joe Logan, vice chair
Joe Logan is the former executive director of the International Casual Furnishings Association (ICFA), the trade association for the outdoor furnishings industry, based in High Point, North Carolina. Prior to becoming executive director in 2008, he held various leadership positions in association management. Logan began his career with Deloitte and Sara Lee Corp. in Winston-Salem. He holds a degree in economics from Davidson College and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
T.L. Brown, secretary
T.L. Brown has nearly 20 years of experience in estate and trust administration. He earned his B.A., J.D. and MBA degrees from Wake Forest University, and is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and U.S. Supreme Court Bar. Prior to joining Members Trust Company in 2021, Brown served as vice president, senior fiduciary procedural consultant at Wells Fargo Bank. Brown serves on several boards and is a member of the Winston-Salem Foundation Black Philanthropy Initiative and the Estate Planning Council of Winston-Salem.
Sherry Polonsky, treasurer
Sherry Polonsky is the chief financial officer of Williams Development Group LLC, which is a privately held real estate development company in Winston-Salem. Today, she also serves on the board of Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina. The University of Virginia graduate is also a former member of the Novant Health Triad Region board of directors.
Gregory Brewer
Greg Brewer has been the owner of Right at Home In Home Care & Assistance for more than 19 years. He is a management consultant, entrepreneur and senior human resources expert. Brewer graduated from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, and received a master’s degree from Thomas Edison State College. Brewer has previously served on several boards, including the National Sports Media Association, Twin City Development Foundation and the Novant Health Clemmons Medical Center Advisory Board.
Henri Cancio-Fitzgerald
Henri Cancio-Fitzgerald is the managing director of nonprofit solutions for PNC Institutional Asset Management. He also leads PNC’s Endowment & Foundation National Practice Group. Prior to entering the financial services industry, he taught business law as an adjunct instructor at Forsyth Technical Community College. Cancio-Fitzgerald graduated with degrees in political science and business management from Emory & Henry College, and a J.D. in corporate law and planning from Wake Forest University School of Law. He currently serves as a member of the Emory & Henry College board of trustees. Cancio-Fitzgerald also serves on the board of directors for the South Fork Panthers, a local youth football and cheerleading organization.
Suzanne Jabbour
Suzanne Jabbour is retired from her role as vice president/general counsel for R.J. Reynolds. She is a former assistant U.S. attorney. Jabbour is originally from Danbury, Connecticut. She earned a degree in business administration from Wake Forest University, and a J.D. from the Wake Forest University School of Law. Jabbour has served on numerous boards in the community including the Salvation Army.
Tom McDaniel
Tom McDaniel is a CPA, software consultant, and the owner of McDaniel & Company, PLLC. He received his degree in accounting from Virginia Tech University. He is a member of the North Carolina Association of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, and the Rotary Club of Kernersville.
