Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 25, 2016 – Novant Health Pediatrics Arboretum recently opened its doors to the public, giving south Charlotte families a new, convenient choice for pediatric health care. The clinic offers well-child visits; sick-child visits, which include same-day and next-day care; school, sports and camp physicals; all childhood immunizations and vaccinations; on-site labs and services; and prenatal appointments.
The practice is located at 3135 Springbank Lane, Suite 100, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Novant Health Pediatrics Arboretum is staffed by Dr. Miranda Cordell and Dr. Erin Washburn.
Washburn has held a wide variety of pediatric positions over the course of her career, both in private practice and as a pediatric hospitalist. She says she is happy to have found a spot at Pediatrics Arboretum. “I love smaller practices like ours,” said Washburn, who transferred from Novant Health Randolph Pediatrics. “I feel we give the patients and their families a sense of belonging, not as if they’re being rushed in the door and out.”
As a mother of three active daughters, Washburn knows firsthand the importance of cooperation in pediatric care. “I want my patients and their families to know that we are a team,” she said. “We will be in this from the start to when your child ages out of pediatric care. I will be here to answer any and all questions.”
Cordell, who recently completed her residency at Levine Children’s Hospital, says being a pediatrician is truly a dream job. “I am so honored and appreciative of the opportunity to help take care of children,” said Cordell. “There is nothing I would rather do!”
Aside from general pediatrics, Cordell particularly enjoys adolescent pediatrics. “Adolescence is a time of change for most children,” she said. “It’s important they have a medical provider they can trust.” She takes pride in the small practice and says that patients will always be greeted by providers who know them.
