Novant Health Pelvic Health Center opens in Salisbury

SALISBURY, N.C.,– Novant Health Pelvic Health Center has opened a new location at 1904 Jake Alexander Blvd. W., Suite 303, in Salisbury, North Carolina. The clinic is open Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., by appointment.

The new center features minimally invasive gynecologic surgery specialist, Dr. Jed Schortz. Dr. Schortz completed an internship in general surgery at Albany Medical Center, Albany, New York, followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, New Jersey, where he was awarded the Special Resident in Minimally Invasive Surgery Award, sponsored by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. He also received the Resident Research Award with his focus being research in minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Schortz then went on to complete fellowship training in minimally invasive gynecological surgery and chronic pelvic pain at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, New York. There, he performed hundreds of complex laparoscopic, robotic and hysteroscopic gynecologic surgeries, as well as successfully treated many women with chronic pelvic pain conditions.

Dr. Schortz can diagnose, evaluate and treat a range of gynecological conditions to achieve the best outcome for his patients. He specializes in treating patients experiencing many pelvic conditions, such as fibroids, endometriosis, abdominal, vaginal and pelvic pain, irregular vaginal bleeding, as well as interstitial cystitis and adenomyosis. Women of all ages who are affected by these and other pelvic diagnoses are seen at the center.
