Novant Health Rowan Medical Center to host free maternity event

Expectant parents, new parents and their families are invited to celebrate the growth of their family at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center’s third annual maternity and parenting event, Rock-A-Bye Baby Jam.  This free, festive event will be Thurs., Sept. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the hospital located at 612 Mocksville Avenue in Salisbury.

Rock-A-Bye Baby Jam features information about the maternity services offered at Rowan Medical Center including childbirth and breastfeeding classes. Tours of the maternity area will be available with the opportunity to meet labor and delivery nurses and the obstetricians who deliver babies at Rowan Medical Center. There will be refreshments, great door prizes, and information from community businesses specializing in maternity and infant services.

“Whether you are currently expecting, or just thinking about preparing for pregnancy, Rock-A-Bye Baby Jam is a great way to spend the day sharing in fun, learning about the maternity services offered at the hospital, and finding solutions to all your baby needs,” said Dari Caldwell, president of Rowan Medical Center.

Rowan Medical Center specializes in family-centered maternity care in a comfortable, secure environment that combines the latest technology with home-like décor. The center features private, spacious birthing suites, expert staff for maternal and newborn care, lactation consultants, and a Level II Special Care Nursery staffed around the clock by certified neonatal nurse practitioners to care for babies with special needs. In 2015, Rowan Medical Center received the Baby-Friendly designation from the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).  This international honor is given to hospitals that offer an optimal level of care for infant feeding and help parents make informed choices about the feeding and caring for their infants.

Rock-A-Bye Baby Jam is free to the public and no advanced registration is required. For more information about this event, call 704-210-5630.
