Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation to “Paint the Town Pink” this month for breast cancer awareness

THOMASVILLE, N.C. – Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation is teaming up with local businesses, civic offices and community members for a “Paint the Town Pink” campaign during the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Thomasville and Davidson County communities are invited to support the initiative by purchasing pink ribbons for $1 each in honor or memory of a loved one. The ribbons are available at participating area businesses, which are encouraged to tape ribbons sold at their locations to storefronts, walls or anywhere they can easily be seen by patrons. Each ribbon has a space where purchasers may write their name or choose to honor a loved one.

“Paint the Town Pink” is organized by the hospital foundation as a community-wide effort designed to make a difference in the lives of Thomasville women by raising awareness of the importance of mammograms. This year, all funds raised will go to the foundation’s Breast Health Fund, which covers the cost of mammograms, diagnostic mammograms and ultrasounds for women who are uninsured or underinsured.

For more information about “Paint the Town Pink” or to sell ribbons, contact Brittney Turner, Administrative Specialist, for Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation, at 336-474-7957.
